Mummified tomatoes - History

Image
After 4 weeks of being in Natron, we have uncovered our tomatoes! We have discovered that the process of mummification has begun. The outer skin of the tomatoes have begun to shrivel and turn wrinkly - telling us that water has started to come out of them. We are very excited and will be leaving them to dry further over the holiday.

Neighbour - RE Day

Image
During the week we had our RE Day - for Year 4 the theme was ‘Neighbour’ where we explored who our neighbour was, could be, and why. We discussed the story of The Good Samaritan and what the meaning was behind it - we decided that it meant ‘Kindness is key and that anyone can show kindness to anyone at any time’. We had a little role play of a modern day version, which the children really enjoyed and some really thoughtful conversations.

Author Visit

On Thursday, Year 4 were treated to a visit from Jenny McLachlan, the author of The Land or Roar series. The children listened with eager ears and thoroughly enjoyed the reenactment of Arthur, and his twin sister Rose, as they enter the Land of Roar to find their missing Grandad.  The children were a great audience and Jenny was thrilled to have shared some of her stories and writing tips to the children.
