Last week, Year 4 focused on athletics, taking part in a range of indoor and outdoor lessons to develop their core skills. Students worked on improving their javelin and shot put techniques, concentrating on body positioning and control to enhance accuracy and distance. In jumping activities such as the speed bounce and long jump, students developed their rhythm, timing, and landing technique, helping to build coordination and agility. They particularly enjoyed the relay races, where the use of reverse boards added an extra challenge and required strong communication and teamwork. The week concluded with endurance running, allowing students to build stamina and resilience while learning how to pace themselves effectively over longer distances. This week, Year 4 have been expanding their place value knowledge. Not only have we been traversing tricky number lines but we have been diving into the flexible partitioning of some pretty big numbers.# We have been using base 10 to help us represent our numbers. This has been particularly helpful when we've had numbers in the thousands and we have had to partition them.
