Last week, Year 4 focused on athletics, taking part in a range of indoor and outdoor lessons to develop their core skills. Students worked on improving their javelin and shot put techniques, concentrating on body positioning and control to enhance accuracy and distance. In jumping activities such as the speed bounce and long jump, students developed their rhythm, timing, and landing technique, helping to build coordination and agility. They particularly enjoyed the relay races, where the use of reverse boards added an extra challenge and required strong communication and teamwork. The week concluded with endurance running, allowing students to build stamina and resilience while learning how to pace themselves effectively over longer distances. What is a National Park?

Image
The 2 year 4 classes were amazing this week as they began to understand what a National Park is. Once the children were introduced to them, they soon realised that some of them have visited or been on holiday to one of the 15 national parks in The United Kingdom. They were able to describe what they saw and how big the landscape was as well as the animals they saw roaming around.  Using their knowledge they located the different parks and had fun saying the Welsh names. Then they used their map of the parks to recap their map skills.  Fabulous lessons year 4, thank you 🤩

What is a region?

This term, Holly and Maple are studying The United Kingdom.  They began by identifying their new journey and the next 6 lessons.   Their first lesson was to identify different regions in the United Kingdom. To help them visualise what an area is the children used a map of the school grounds to identify the different regions/areas they know. Finally, they identified the different regions in the United Kingdom and that they live in the South East region.
