Year 4 - Spring Term - Gymnastics & Hockey

Year 4 have shown great enthusiasm and clear progression this week, particularly in hockey. Students were given the exciting opportunity to try indoor hockey, which allowed them to use rebound boards to control and redirect the ball. This encouraged them to think creatively and tactically in a more tactile setting. Lessons also focused on developing shooting technique, with students learning the importance of leaning into their shots and looking for clear opportunities to shoot during play.

In gymnastics, students have progressed to using a wider range of equipment to further develop their travelling movements, leaps, rolls and balances. This has enabled Year 4 to become increasingly creative when choreographing their routines, which they confidently performed in front of their peers. In addition, some classes were fortunate to take part in dance lessons led by a guest this week, providing an exciting opportunity to explore movement in a different and engaging way.
