Summer Term 1 - Year 3 - Cricket

Year 4 have made an excellent start to the summer term, showing great enthusiasm as they begin their focus on cricket. It has been wonderful to see their positive attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges. During the first week, students focused on building the key skills needed for cricket, including batting, bowling, and fielding. Through a range of engaging activities and drills, they developed their coordination, control, and confidence in each area. This week, students have begun to apply these skills within small-sided games, helping them to better understand the rules and flow of cricket. A strong emphasis has been placed on teamwork, communication, and making thoughtful decisions during gameplay. Overall, Year 4 have approached this unit with great energy and determination. It has been particularly pleasing to see how well they are working together and supporting one another. We look forward to seeing their skills continue to develop over the coming weeks.

This year the theme was Vive la Reine.  The children then completed a word search after learning some Easter 🐣 vocabulary.

French: to find out about a French sports personality

Year 4 revised the days of the week and using sentences to introduce themselves. They then learnt how to use Il and Elle which they used to present their sport’s personality. They then searched for information to describe them, including age, birthday, eye and hair colour - all things they’ve used to describe themselves. They used this information to complete sentences.
