Describing a character

Year 4 have been busy writing their own descriptions of Fenrir - the villainous character in Arthur and the Golden Rope. They have had to think carefully about how to describe him to portray the evil nature of him and his horrible looks. Using AI and their descriptions, we’ve had a few gruesome portraits created!

Here is a small selection of their final descriptions and some AI generated pictures! (The children loved this part!)

Basketball and Athletics in PE

  Last week, Year 4 focused on athletics, taking part in a range of indoor and outdoor lessons to develop their core skills. Students worked on improving their javelin and shot put techniques, concentrating on body positioning and control to enhance accuracy and distance. In jumping activities such as the speed bounce and long jump, students developed their rhythm, timing, and landing technique, helping to build coordination and agility. They particularly enjoyed the relay races, where the use of reverse boards added an extra challenge and required strong communication and teamwork. The week concluded with endurance running, allowing students to build stamina and resilience while learning how to pace themselves effectively over longer distances. Overall, it was a productive week that supported students in strengthening their athletic skills and confidence.  This week, Year 4 have been expanding their place value knowledge. Not only have we been traversing tricky number lines but we have been diving into the flexible partitioning of some pretty big numbers.# We have been using base 10 to help us represent our numbers. This has been particularly helpful when we've had numbers in the thousands and we have had to partition them.
